Sedation Dentistry

Dental anxiety is something many people deal with, whether it’s slight nervousness at an appointment or missing years of professional dental care due to the anxiety. If getting the dental care you need makes you nervous in any way, let our team know immediately. We will gladly adjust the pace of treatment to meet your needs and make you feel comfortable. For patients with moderate to severe dental anxiety, we offer sedation options to help you relax while we work.

Nitrous Oxide

Also known as laughing gas, nitrous oxide is a gas that is inhaled through a mask placed over the nose and mouth. The sweet-smelling gas produces a feeling of heightened relaxation throughout your appointment. Once we’re done working, breathing normally for just a few minutes will reverse its effects completely.

Oral Conscious Sedation

If you suffer from more severe dental anxiety, our Doctors may suggest oral conscious sedation. They’ll prescribe a pill that you will take prior to your procedure. By the time you’re in the dental chair, you’ll feel completely relaxed but be completely conscious.

If you will be undergoing oral conscious sedation at an upcoming appointment, you will need to have someone drive you to and from your appointment for your safety.
